Frustration Rising

Today has been a great source of frustration. I left my retainers at my mother in law's house last night so I had to drive for 2 hours with my kids to go get them. Then my children started acting like demons. And the latest frustration is the fact that I can't seem to get my blog layout to change to what I want it to have on it. So the frustration level is rising!

On a happier note, my Mom and Dad will be here in 2 more days and I'll have the rest of the week to hang out with them.

2. How long have you been married? almost 7 years
3. How long did you date? we dated for about 3 weeks before I knew we would get married, 2 months before he realized it and then we were engaged for 7 months (too long)
4. How old is he? 31
5. Who eats more sweets? me, I am such a sweet eater.
6. Who said I love you first? He did. At his Mom's house in the bedroom I was staying in.
7. Who is taller? He is, by a couple inches.
8. Who can sing better? He can. I can hit about 4 notes and not on purpose.
9. Who is smarter? We're both smart, but Seth has more education and has a phenomonal memory for information.
10. Who does the laundry? I do. He'll put laundry into the washer and then the dryer but I end up putting it away.
11. Who pays the bills? I do.
12. Who sleeps on the right side? When we are in bed I am on his right.
13. Who mows the lawn? He does. sometimes with little boys pushing the lawn mower with him
14. Who cooks dinner? I do. On Wed nights he does fend for himself and the kids call it "Wapple Night" (waffles)
15. Who drives? When we are together he does most of the driving.
16. Who kissed who first? I kissed him. We were at his sister's house watching a movie and I really wanted him to kiss me but it was taking to long so I leaned off the couch (he was on the floor) and planted one on him.
17. Who asked who out first? I guess I did since I brought him my birthday cake and we had our first "date" in the Discover Card cafeteria and parking lot that night.
18. Who proposed? He did.
19. Who has more siblings? Seth has one more sibling than I do.
20. Who wears the pants? Depends on what time of the month it is!

I've been tagged to post 7 things that most people won't know about me and to then tag others.

I'm not sure that there is all that much to post about myself. I tend to wear my feelings on my sleeve, not in a bad way, I hope. But I'm pretty much an open book. I'm gonna try and get creative. We'll see how it goes.

1. I'm a serious Survivor and Big Brother addict. The funny thing about me liking them so much is that I used to scoff at reality TV in general. I must admit that I like the interaction between people and yes, the drama that they stir up amoungst themselves. I'm a people watcher for sure.

2. On that note, I take pleasure in pretending to know what other people are thinking in public places like the grocery store line, the mall, the park. And especially people on cell phones. I like making up totally bogus conversations. Lame, I know, but it keeps me entertained.

3. I spend most of my time on the internet, eithering reading emails, articles, blogs, or working at night. I have a job on the computer after my kids are in bed and it usually keeps me up until 2-3am every night, except Sundays! YAY! Sabbath.

4. I am extremely competitive. I used to make girls cry in church basketball and volleyball. I liked to think that my disease was cured, however I have recently realized how wrong I was in that assumption. I currently play racquetball every morning for 2 hours. And I play every game to win and at 100%. And I have a temper when I mess things up.

5. I have 3 boys, ages 5, 4, 3 (in one month anyway). And I'm currently trying to get pregnant. Some ask me if I'm a masochist. My answer, "I'm not sure".

6. I just had my braces removed after having them for 2 years and my teeth are finally straight! YAY!! I seriously can't stop smiling. (this picture is being taken really late night and is not me in top form).

7. Lastly, I have an issue with female doctors. Yes, I am fully aware that's a prejudice. I have no idea what it stems from, I just know that I prefer men doctors, for me, for my children, etc. I hope I don't offend anyone, it's just a preference.

Random tidbits- REALLY March 20th

By the way, this post was started on February 11th but I just finished it on March 20, 2008.

I know this is longer than the weekend after my procedure and I hope no one was too worried. The "procedure" was more intense thatn I initially thought or was led to believe. Anyway, everything went great, recovery went great and the tests all came back that everything is fine. While they were inside me they removed my IUD so we will inevitably be pregnant next month. I'm thrilled at the prospect. I'm ready to be moving on to the next stage, watching the kids grow up but I know our family isn't complete yet so I'd like to move that part of the ride along.

This week has been so hectic. Monday, I couldn't get any of my errands done because I had locked my keys in the van. I couldn't even pick Noah up from school. Today, I ran all over creation to collect birth certificates for my kids so I can register them for school. What a pain in the butt. Ahh, but now it's done, everyone is signed up for school and now I can relax on that issue.


We had great news this week! Noah made it into the charter school we wanted him to get in. It's a school that specializes on the arts, visual & performing. He is ecstatic and I couldn't be more excited for him to have a more rounded education than is traditionally offered now. After his audition, I commented about how proud I was of him and he said, "I'm proud of me too". Why can't they always have this image of self worth? I'm not ready for him to stop believing he can do anything.







Benjamin taught me a small lesson is humility this week. He is 2 and on Monday night while I was making dinner, I heard him asking Seth to "teach me to say axk (ask), Daddy." Now, my other kids usually start things with "but I can't", Benjamin is different. He always wants to give it his all. So after a few minutes with Dad, I heard him cheering. Then he ran into the kitchen, "Mommy, tell me to say ask"- clear as day. He was so thrilled with his small accomplishment. I couldn't resist giving him extra loves to show that I was proud of him too.


On Friday, I am going to devote some of my day to figuring out how to make my blog more interesting. I want to add some pictures, music, cool links, and a fun background. So hopefully there will be something interesting to see beginning of next week.
